"facing the future"

1- I think in this passage they are trying to say that they want everyone to feel good about themselves and that you can hate yourselves till you are sixteen. You hate yourself enough and an ugly person which makes you want to get the surgery done.

2-In this passage I think that they are trying to say that when they are pretty they all will like each other and no one will hate anyone or make fun of them when they are pretty.

3- In this passage I think they are trying to say that when you get the surgery every one will see you as an equal and no one will think you are ugly referring to passage 1 & 2. They want you to get the surgery so everyone is equal or pretty.
