Write a one paragraph summary of the chapter.

Tally was trying to escape New Pretty Town avoiding all the hover cars and police people. On her way to the Uglies she spotted someone through the brush. She later found out that it was an Ugly that had also crossed over to New Pretty Town to be in the party. The Uglies name was Shay. She showed Shay what bridge to cross over in order to get to New Pretty Town without being tattled on.

What have you learned about Shat? Is she like Tally? Make a prediction about what will happen between Tally and Shay.

I have learned that Shay is also an Ugly that wants to go see the Pretties once and a while, just as Tally does. She sneaks over to New Pretty Town and spies on the Pretties. I think Tally and Shay will become best friends and they will forever stay Uglies.

I think they have bungee jumping so the Pretties have a safe way to escape a building when in danger and also so they can have fun and jump off whenever they want to.

I think they were best friend but now that Paris has become an Ugly he thinks it is "bogus" to even talk to her until she is a pretty. When she tries to talk to him he barley even listens to her. All he does is tell her that she needs to leave. I think that she needs to leave him and find a new best friend.

Masks have been used for many cultures over the past thousands of years. Masks from the earlier years were probably made from local objects. more expensive items were probably used to make more important masks like they are now. Over the century masks have been used more for cultural purposes. Masks have also been used for entertainment. Tally chose to wear a mask to cover her identity and so nobody new who she was.

She chose to wear a mask to the white tie party so no one could see her face and so that no one would find out that she was an Ugly.

"Of course, Tally thought, you;d have jto feed the your cat only salmon-flavord cat food for a while, to get the pinks right. the scudding clouds did look a bit fishy, rippled into scales by a high-alltitude wind. As the light faded, deep blue gaps of night peered through like an upside-down ocean bottomless and cold."

No, I have never had a friend like Paris but I have been a friend like Paris. I have made friends in different states and then I have moved. I have been really rude. I don't even talk to them anymore. I know that I need to try to talk to them every now and then.

I think beauty is some thing you want to look at. It is something people see appealing to the eye. If everyone was beautiful I think every one would be nice to people and no one would make fun of anyone.

I chose this picture as my ugly picture because it is not a pleasant picture to look at. It is an ugly dog that no one wants to have.
