I think it requires bravery to meet anyone new, especially if you do not know the people. First impressions are very important. People say they remember you most for the first thing you say to them. In Tally's case, she has a secret and she has to hide her secret, and be "judged" by David's parents. This would require her to be brave face this unknown situation.
